Gretchen McCarey joined Atlas Venture in 2008 as Vice President - Finance.

Prior to joining Atlas Venture, Gretchen was Controller at Globespan Capital Partners where she was responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting, investor relations and operations.  Prior to Globespan, Gretchen spent six years working in the asset management industry focused on venture capital and high net worth individuals.   Gretchen began her finance career with Deloitte & Touche LLP where she spent four years in the audit practice.

Gretchen is a Certified Public Accountant.  She graduated summa cum laude from Northeastern  University where she received her M.B.A and M.S. in Accounting.  Gretchen also graduated magna cum laude with a B.A. from Colby  College.
